Hydrogen Transport

Hydrogen Transport.jpg

To transport hydrogen across longer distances, pipelines are being targeted as the most cost-effective way to get the gas from its production site to the end use location. Natural gas pipelines have the potential to carry up to a 20 % H2 blend without major changes to the pipeline itself allowing for existing infrastructure to be used now to move large volumes of the gas. This has the advantage of reduced CAPEX and allows for hydrogen to be supplied today. Our products, for example the CobaSeal have already undergone safety testing and have been proven ready for such blending purposes. We can support our customers with our products and years of experience in the field of pipeline gas distribution.

Future hydrogen only pipelines are being developed to carry strictly hydrogen for which compressor OEMs and equipment manufacturers have some technical challenges to work through. Here we can support with our team of technical experts who have years of know-how in the field of rotating equipment. Our products are currently being tested to be used for pure hydrogen applications (>99.9 %vol), including cryogenic H2 and we have completed several feasibility studies for our customers working in this space.
